01 / The world

Four planets. Between them, only ships somebody built

Every planet has its own day length, its own resources and its own role: the system is built so that not one planet is self-sufficient. There are no portals. The only way off a planet is a ship the players assembled: hull, engine, fuel, life support. That is weeks of work and a dozen specialists, so the first ships will be jointly owned out of sheer necessity. The class II engine is not in the Library — somebody will have to invent it first, and at a loss. There is no telling in advance how long a flight takes: the planets follow their own orbits, and the road between two of them runs from a few hours to several days, depending on where they stand right now.

Terra

The cradle open

Home of the cyborg humans and the main market. The Bioprinter stands here — the Precursor machine that prints people. There is no map: the world grows by whoever walks out past the wall. Everyone will see what you find, but you get there first.

Aurora

Ruins the first target in space

An ice planet, and under the ice lie the cities of the Precursors. What comes out of them is blueprints, catalysts and scraps of somebody else's history. Nobody gets deep alone. Violence is allowed: the greatest danger here is other explorers. A word of advice — do not make friends down there.

Pyroxis

The bottleneck of progress furthest out

Lava fields, ash storms, calderas with the richest veins there are. The only source of pyroxite, and without pyroxite there are no engines and no reactors. Eruptions redraw the map — you adapt or you lose. Every kilogram is paid for by the road there and back.

Aquatica

The economy's second pole in development

An ocean world and home of the nymphs — an economy built on different principles from the human one. It will not be in the beta. The planet arrives whole, and only when the economy starts to miss it — not for the sake of a line on a feature list.

People here are printed

The real human civilisation — the Precursors — vanished, leaving behind a machine that prints people. You are what that machine printed.

  • The Precursorsgone
Real humans, the ones who built the bioprinter. Their cities lie under Aurora's ice and under Terra's capital. You are not their descendants — you are their product.
  • Cyborg humansthat is you
The body is printed by the bioprinter, the mind runs on a built-in processor. Nobody is born here — only printed. The body is a consumable; the person is immortal.
  • Nymphsin development
Aquatica's ocean line. They reject technology, and grow things instead of forging them.
Tone

Not heroic space opera but a colonial frontier. The galaxy is silent; everything complicated around you is somebody else's, old, and not fully understood. Printed people pick through the estate of a vanished civilisation and fight each other over ore. The lore is not shown to you in a cutscene — it is found in fragments on Aurora, and then sold, hidden or forged.
